Product Description

The flame-retardant mechanism of aluminum hydroxide is: it decomposes at 200-300ºC, and dehydration reaction occurs after decomposition, which absorbs a large amount of heat on the surface of polymer materials, which can reduce the surface temperature of burning materials; at the same time, dehydration produces a large amount of water vapor, which dilutes combustible gas and oxygen Concentration; Its decomposition residues Al2O3 are dense oxides, which are deposited on the surface of the material to limit the generation of combustible gas,so it can play the role of heat insulation and oxygen isolation and achieve the effect of suppressing smoke; And aluminum hydroxide can absorb acid gas . Aluminum hydroxide has a moderate price and is the most widely used  flame retardant filler.

Application of aluminum hydroxide flame retardant: ATH has a wide range of uses. It is not only used for flame retardant, but also used for smoke suppression and reducing the generation of corrosive gases in materials; it can not only be used alone, but also often used in combination with other flame retardants. For polymers whose processing temperature is lower than the decomposition temperature of ATH (190~230ºC), ATH is an excellent flame-retardant material, It used for elastomers, thermosetting resins and thermoplastics, etc., and it also used in styrene-butadiene latex for production of flame-retardant carpets.  it is used in the production of flame-retardant insulated rubber cables, thermal insulation foams, conveyor belts, roof ceilings and hoses. it is also used in toilet appliances, decorative walls, various covers, automobile protective covers, seats, truck parts, etc., as well as electronic components including insulators and circuit boards, construction tools, etc. 

 Application in PVC plastic products
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a cheap polymer material, and it is easy to process. Polyvinyl chloride is divided into soft PVC and rigid PVC according to how plasticizers are added. Soft PVC is widely used in cables, various household products, electrical appliances, etc. Plastic products such as rigid PVC in-line grooves, pipes, doors and windows, and profiles shapes material  have been widely used. PVC has become an essential material in the national economy and daily life. However, when it burns, it produces a lot of smoke, decomposes toxic and corrosive gases, suffocating, and it is the main cause of death in fires accident. The application of ATH to PVC effectively overcomes the above shortcomings. Ultra-fine hydrated alumina can increase the oxygen index of PVC plastics. ATH treated with the coupling agent can also significantly reduce the smoke density of the plastic, and the mechanical properties of the material have little effect. The dosage is within the range of 20-30 parts. Aluminium hydroxide is an excellent flame retardant and smoke smoke suppressant with wide application prospects.
